Check engine light at 75mph +
1st module is "P" - ECM stored codes
push button = "none" in display
push button = "part # of module will be displayed"
push button = "S" flashing - TSM codes
push button = "none" or "code" displayed
push button = "part # of module will be displayed"
this goes on for two more modules, if you don't have a tach, mine showed "N/A" in the display.
To clear the stored DTC's, when the display says "end" after you've been through all the modules, just press and hold the button for at least 5 seconds, and the codes will be cleared from memory. If you don't clear the codes, they will flush out automatically after something like 25 "cycles" or start-run-stops, if the issue doesn't happen within this time frame.
When the codes are cleared, your check engine light won't come on after you've started the bike.
Thanks to all, especially up2nogood22, KSGG and DrPlastic. I ran the diagnostics and got code P1353 Front cylinder No combustion EFI. I cleared the code, ran the bike, and got no more Check engine light coming on while riding and no diagnostic trouble codes.
I am sure the problem was just a front spark plug wire not pushed in completely. When I checked the plugs that Saturday night, I noticed that the front plug wire came off much easier than the rear plug wire. The engine never ran rough so I think somewhere along the trip vibration or hitting a bump made the somewhat loose wire miss a spark and trigger the DTC. A whole lot of worrying on my part for just a loose spark plug wire. If it had been loose enough to come off or cause the engine to miss then I would have figured it out early on and had a more enjoyable day.
Thanks again. Great people, great forum.

That happened to me once on my 05 Heritage. I just came back from a trip, and was wanting to get my bike serviced before leaving on another trip that my wife was going with me.
The dealer I chose to do the service assured me they would get me right in and right back out. They did, but on the way home, the check engine light came on. I called them and turned around and drove 90 mph all the way back up there to get there in time for them to take a look at it so I still had a chance to go on the trip with my wife the next day.
They said one of the plug wires wasn't making contact and it was only running on one cyclinder. I found that hard to believe so I asked him if he thought it would run 180 mph back home since I was firing on both now.......
I guess it doesn't take much of an interruption in the firing to throw that code. No way my bike was only running on one cyclinder.
