I have an all stock 09 EGC with 10,900 miles (rode to Sturgis from Rhode Island 6,144 miles). The stock pipes are too quiet and I dont want to go to something too loud. I like the looks of the fish tails while it does improve the sound quality of the bike. I must admit I like the tunes coming from the Hog Tune speakers and would rather hear tunes than loud pipes. Hell, at 53 Ive had my share of loud pipes and I do a lot of touring.
Is anyone running Fish Tails on a new bike? Does it require remapping or just slip on and go?
I have the HD SE touring slip-on which allow you to select your choice of end caps, I have the fishtails. They are not stock "quiet-quiet", just a step above but are not harsh on the ears when riding at speed. No remapping was required. I can hear the radio just fine at normal output even at 60-70mph. People I ride with tell me the bike sounds just fine and not at all overly loud to ride near.

Same here, i have the SE slip-ons with fishtails. You can hear the radio just fine, that's why i'm running them. Can't say about the loudness on a stock bike cause it's a 103 engine with cams, louder than stock. I didn't buy a $17,000 motorcycle to drown out the radio with loud piped.
I have a set of SE Touring mufflers with the Fishtail end caps, I replaced them with Rush slip on's as I wanted louder mufflers.. I'm selling my set for $200.00, used them for a year. They wouldn't fit your bike though as I think the pipe diameter is different for 09up bikes.
Mine fits 08 and older.. fits 1 3/4" pipes..
I have the KERKER Fishtails nice rumble not loud only remap when I put an high flow air cleaner on
I had the Kerker slipons before I got the Thunderheaders and I wish I would have kept them as the Thunderheaders are too loud! The Kerkers have a nice sound to them but not obnoxiously loud like the Thunderheaders.
