Not required here. I wear a 1/2 when it's hot (most of the time) and a 3/4 when it's cold or I know for sure it will rain long and hard.

I have always worn a helmet. I happen to think it should be up to the rider if he wears one or not.
I have a wall of fame that has 7 broken helmets on it. Most of them were from my youth and raceing.
I have half helmet that I wear in the hot summer and a 3/4 that I wear when it starts to cool down.

Half helmet 10% of the time.
Full Face Nolan Modular for long trips and/or bad weather the rest of the time.

I have been riding legaly on paved roads since 1988, I enjoy riding without when weather permits. During cold and rain I opt for a Modular. I've owned all kinds of lids and feel that the rider should have the right to choose.

I always wear a helmet whether it's the law or not.

I have a 1/2, a 3/4 and a FF I wear the 3/4 most of the time but I believe the best choice is Full face which I will wear when temp drops out of the 90's

I prefer to always wear a helmet. My newest one is a 3/4 HJC IS-33 that I really like. Flip down face shield and also a built in sun-shield that retracts. Kinda like a fighter-pilot's helmet. Does come in handy when the sunglasses just aren't enough. Also wear a halfy sometimes, but usually 3/4. My choice alone and I don't think you should HAVE TO wear one if that's what you want.

When it comes to helmets, I am a 1%r. In south Texas it is cold or rains about 1% of the time. I sometimes wear my half helmet at those times. To me, riding is so much more enjoyable with nothing on my head. I don't even like wearing a do-rag any more, but often do.

I am sure this thread will turn into a pulpit for all the helmet lovin' preachers here to tell us how they were saved by a helmet. Gawd save the rest of us from the born again helmet evangelicals.
