Full Face is in the tourpak with the raingear stuffed in it for when the weather changes.
Otherwise it is a 1/2 helmet.
Wife and I both started to wear helmets again after 20 plus years of riding in the wind
when our son started riding at age 16.
Monkey see....monkey do

Default helmet poll

My wife and I choose not to wear helmets unless it is raining or very cold. My opinion is fate is what it will be and when your times up your number will be punched anyway. I do like being able to hear cagers coming up beside me and the fact that it's easier to check my six for lane changes easier also, which is important as I drive in Chicagoland traffic which is heavy and crazy most of the time. When we do wear our helmets we both have the full face HD flip up helmets with ghost flames. I like the fact that in Illinois we have the choice to wear or not wear, and think that all riders should have a say in his or her safety decisions.

Bought my first bike when I was 19 (long time ago) it was a Ducati 250 - many bikes since and ALWAYS wore a helmet, some 3/4 and some FF.

Now that I have the Street Glide I have tried no helmet and since I'm balding that exposes the old pate to a lot of rays. Did the baseball cap thing but above 50 I'm waiting for it to fly off. So I've defaulted to AGV half helmet for hot days, 3/4 HJC for cooler days and RF1000 for rain or cold days. With that said, I find that the more I encase my head with plastic the louder the pipes sound to me. I truly prefer having my ears unencumbered like with a half helmet. With no helmet covering my ears I can hear the valve train clearly. The shell over my ears seems to capture the sound of the pipes and resonate it.

Ever since I went down in the mountains of North Carolina I've had a new respect for full face helmets. It looked like someone had taken a side grinder from the chin all the way around the right side. I still got my bell rung but I rode that puppy home-twisted forks and all. I got some funny looks after that one.

I use a 3/4 90% of the time, but have 1/2 & FF's as well....

Been riding too long. I know what the ground can do to feeble flesh & bones. Interstingly, I've endured far more and more serious injuries racing MX in the 70's than I ever have on the street.... I know, it just takes once ~ that's why I still wear'm.

I agree it IS a HOT MF in TX most of the time.

No helmet here, except those states that require it when I'm traveling and it's a 1/2 helmet.

Half and full for some conditions but most of the time I like to wear a 3/4 - I have a non dot Biltwell which is light and comfortable, and also a Daytona which is a good helmet for the money and fairly low profile for a dot helmet.

Helmet always. I recently moved to TX from CA and old habits die hard. My head feels naked without one.

I have a FF that I used on the Duc. Looking to pick up a 1/2 now that I have the RKC. I'm not convinced that I'm going to like riding with a 1/2, though. We'll see.
