Just wondering something. Anyone else notice thier speedometer a little off after changing to Elite 3's? Checked mine with a GPS yesterday and indicated 60 is really 58. Could have been that way with the stock tires, don't know.

It very likely was as most HD's are optomistic about that much. I also have a GPS and E3's and the speedo is off the same amount with both tires
Well I hope that everyone is correct. Pushing 20,000 on my 2004 RK, I ordered a set of E3's today and they'll be in next week. I didn't even know I needed a rear tire, but crawling around looking for the tire valve the other night gave me the old "Oh Sh**" when I saw the tread on the rear tire. It is still very legal, but I have a trip coming up next month and figured better get it out of the way now. My front tire is a pretty new 402, but I bit the bullet and ordered up a new tire anyway from Jake Wilson, the customer service should be pretty good.
P.S. Anyone want a slightly used 402? It has about 4,500 miles on it and looks like new.
Definitively the best tires for these bikes, put on a set and the difference is like night and day.
I went with the rear 160 'cause I got a good deal, front/rear tires shipped $210.00 (160 rear tire) + $80.00 mount/balance (all work done by local indy).
Rear IS tight but no rubbing whatsoever, handling wet or dry is very stable and secure, they do feel a bit harder than the stock tires will verify air pressures.
Again, one happy camper here
I just put Elite 3s on my RG after running a set of Michelins. The rear Mich picked up a nail after about 9k, still many miles left on the Mich. I've also run Metz 880s and the stock tires. I liked the Metz better than the Mich or stock 402s but being a softer better gripping tire they wear quicker. I only have about 200 miles on the Elite 3 but I sure feel a difference. They seem to hold the line better in curves and feel more stable overall. It does feel like they are harder and I think they cause a little more rode noise but the benefits make them a great tire for a heavy bike.
AVON MAKES A DUNLOP REPLACEMENT IN WIDE WHITE WALL. thats what I'm going to next. I also like the gangsters whites. (cohiba joe, what an ugly colored bike you own)
I liked the way the Avon Venom X Handles but the mileage sucks big time...
Just had a set of E3's installed on my 08 SG. The stock tires had 10,000 on them. The front tire had a good amount of tread left, but it had already started dry rotting.
