I must admit that when I first installed the E3 rear now on my bike I was nervous and didn't fully trust the tire for a short time thereafter. It was a "fear of the unknown" issue, not one stemming from anything I had actually experienced. As I rode my confidence grew, and it now is very high, especially after a 3k trip to the Smokies in May that involved the worst weather conditions I've ever encountered on a bike.

What's even more astonishing is the wear I'm getting, now at 16k with 40% of the tread remaining. I should safely get 20k out this rear tire, and if so will be a 2x improvement over the two D402's I installed on this bike.
That 15-month experience for the rear, 7k on the front has sealed it for me. To be honest, I don't know why they don't just make a couple of WW versions, expand the size offerings, and then stop selling all their other touring tires altogether.

When I was at my local Indy having the E3's installed, they checked with Dunlop on line and she said there redesigning the HD touring tires do to poor wear problems. The new tires HD buys will have Harley Davidson printed on them and the tires they purchase will have american... something or other printed on them. So I suspect rather than just put a WW on the E3's, they have to keep HD happy.

I took my original tires off a 7k still plenty of tread on them
but I heard so many good things about the E3 I decided
to do it.

I like mine as well. They do ride stiffer, though, like you have too much air in the tires.

They would increase their manufacturing complexity in a minute if it translated into sufficient sales. If enough people write like you did they may get the message about WW's as well as increasing their product line to cover '09 and later bikes.

I just had Elite 3s mounted today and what a difference. These tires are extremely nice and take cornering like nothing. Thanks to all previous riders who commented on these...I went with your suggestion and it paid off.

I just had a set mounted on Chromepros Plating wheels today. I have riden about 50 miles so far and they feel good. The Chromepros wheels look really good too. The stock tires had about 9k on them and my indy said the rear was ready to replace. I definitely like the ride better with the E3's. I found out about them thanks to this forum. Thank you to everyone that post here.

I put Elite 3's on my '04 EG early this spring after running Dunlop 402's. I love them. No more wiggling in rain grooves AND as of today I have 10,200 miles on them and the rear tire is only showing a small amount of wear. The 402's were just about shot at 10-11,000 miles. I would venture a guess that I'll get about 15-16,000 miles out of the rear tire, at least, maybe more.
