Default Stage 1 air Cleaner

I am sure this is a dumb question but I have the stock air cleaner and I need to know what to do when I upgrade to a stage one. I have V&H pipes, have ordered the PCIII,and I just need to know what to do to the air cleaner. I want to keep my cover since it is the color matched painted one.
Thanks Guys

You can order a SE stage 1 air cleaner and still be able to use your stock cover. SE cleaner will have a new back plate and more of a cone shaped filter, but the cover will still fit over it

I was looking at the K&N Filter and it looks like they make one that comes with everything I need to change it out and still keep my cover.

Johnny, either of the two options would work well for you - either the SE Stage 1 Intake or the K&N stock filter replacement. I think the SE Stage 1 probably flows more air because it removes the rear of the stock housing. But either one will allow you to keep your stock cover. I have the SE Stage 1 on my bike and you can see how the stock cover fits in the picture below:

The factory cover also fits over the Arlen Ness Big Sucker. Comes with a reusable filter (just like the K&N) and a chrome backing plate. Saves some money also

+1 on the Arlen Ness Big Sucker. Mine has been on for nearly 3 years with no problems. Works fine with the stock cover.

I use to have the big sucker on my Fatboy a couple years ago. At that time it came with a K&N filter. Is that still the case these days?
