Okay so here is the issue.
When I shift into sixth gear under heavy load on my 2007 Roadking the indicator light will not come on until I back of the Throttle. IT will then go out again if I roll on the throttle. Is the clutch slipping?
If I was to upgrade the clucth for some engine mods what direction would you take.
Key is at what RPM and what speed? If you're at less than (at least 2500, I'd prefer 3000) you're lugging it. Simple answer - Downshift to 5th then accelerate
No need to upgrade the stock clutch with a stock setup or even up to 100 ft/lbs of torque.
Does the engine rev up and you don't go any faster? If yes, I would say your clutch is slipping and needs to be adjusted, however you really shouldn't have a "heavy load" and try to run in 6th. RPMs are your friend on these engines.
I upgraded my clutch for a big bore build and went with the SE heavy duty spring and the AIM VP-84. Some skip the spring and go to the VP-92, but I wanted heavier initial clamping power and the SE spring gives you that. Might be overkill, but I feel better about it.
Go down the road at 30mph shift into 5th or 6th gear pull in the clutch and rev to 4,000 rpm let out the clutch and open throttle wide open. If it slips you`ll know it. I`m not saying pull a wheelie just use common sense and give`er.
