I bought the mic that comes with the 2010 motorcycles today. Part number 77117-10. It came with a VOX update CD for 2006-2009 motorcycles. I popped it in and ran the update.
My versions before the update were
ST10v8.19.0
TMS320v8.19.0
Now they are:
ST10v8.21.0
TMS320v8.19.0
Is it OK that the two versions are different (meaning it only updated the ST10)?
The Advanced Audio System section of the Harley site that has the updates for our head unit does not have this update yet. They only have 8.19.0.
As long as everything's working I guess so. Did anyone tell you what the VOX upgrade was for? I lost a speaker on a trip a few weeks ago so I bought one of the 2010 headseats. It came with the CD you mention but I didn't want to mess with it in the middle of a trip with my wife so I just put the new headset on my helmet. I haven't loaded it yet but I can't tell any difference in the radio/intercom/vox when riding with my wife. My feeling is if it ain't broke don't mess with it so I haven't done the upgrade on my 09 Ultra.
mismatched software versions have been an issue in the past, typically when the TMS320 was a higher version than the ST10. This configuration will not be an issue.
