And what type(s) of bikes are designed for wheelies?

Same answer, because I can. I don't think anything I have ever ridden was designed for wheelies, but some of the bikes would and some wouldn't. My 89 will get second gear air if you are near redline and shift quick running through the gears.

Its all about what you decide to do with your own stuff. Some guys do burn outs until the tire pops, personally I wouldn't do it, but who am I to tell them they shouldn't do it.

I think part of the alure of the bagger wheelie is the fact that they are "not supposed to do it", as they were designed for touring.

Too each there own!

I had my 07 SG for about a month... mostly stock at the time, my buddy had an 06 SG and when we would be out riding once in awhile he would do a rolling burnout... just at like 10mph for about 4'-5' long... I thought it looked cool. SOOOOOO I tried this once.... rolling 10mph pulled the clutch, rev to bout 4500, brace myself, drop clutch & all of a sudden... front wheel straight up in the air! Thank god I was sober and thinking faster than the fear hit me and I just held on and rode it out so it didnt slam down! My buddies were all about a half block behind me and said OMG that was bada$$, and I said not really it was more of an accident! I havent had the guts to try it again! Yes Im Skeert!

Very well said...I won't be doing it myself, but to say my bagger can wheelie if I want to is the answer to all the "why" questions. It would sure get those rocket guys thinking twice about my Harley. A buddy added a small N2O bottle to his RK and it is cool to see when he pulls the front end up.

This reminds me of an old friend back in high school that drove his dad's old Chevy pickup. The truck was a worn out old work truck and he would bet other kids that he could get the front wheels off the ground. He won every time, it had a granny 1st gear and he would romp on the gas, let off, romp on the gas, let off and about the third or fourth time, sure enough the front wheels would come off the ground............. but talk about the abuse that old truck took.

You ask why?? I ask, why not?? Nothing is more enjoyable, then watching an 800 pound dresser ripping past you with the front wheel off the ground.... That will make anyone smile.

Had it not been for wheelies on baggers, we would not have heard these famous last words:

"Hey, watch this!".....

........and "somebody call 911!!!!"

Aw, c'mon, bagger wheelies are nothing new. I'd be interested in seeing you attempt a stoppie on a bagger.

Whatever you bagger stunt guys do, make sure NOT to wear a helmet or any safety gear. Don't thwart Natural Selection.
