Default Bagger Wheelie...

Hey I know there are some guys on here who have pics of their bikes doing wheelies. I am just curious as to what kind of work needs to be done to the bikes to wheelie. I think that would be fun to do in certain events. Thanks.

A stock bagger will do it.

For starters, expect to replace belts, fork seals and bearings regularly. The list of parts goes up fron there.

you can do this on a stock bike but it is easier on built bike with lots of torque.

the easy part is getting the bike in the air, it is difficult to EASE it back onto the ground.

You will tear a lot of chit up if you let it bounce back to the pavement --

pick and choose your spots for wheelies -- at a minimum you will fcku up a belt pretty quickly (within 5k miles) and a whole host of other chit can go wrong--

the more torque you have the easier it is to get it in the air--if you look at the HDs doing wheelies on youtube most have gone to a chain (not yet available for 08 and later bikes)

A 103" engine with cams will do it easy. However it's not so easy replacing belts, clutches, transmissions, etc. 800 pound motorcycles are not meant to do wheelies.

+? - Torque - and a willingness to replace suspension and drivetrain parts on a regular basis!

I used to ride ricers and had a buell firebolt so I know wheelies with them but clueless on a RK doing a wheelie. How does a stock bagger wheelie? Clutching it?
