Default Which One

I stand at 5'10 and a 1/2'' I ride a 07 rkc with heritage
handle bars and a stock seat. I am more comfortable
sitting on the pasenger strap with the ball of my feet
on the back of the boards where my heels should go.
my seat is starting to tear up thanks to some house cat
and I want another seat. But Which One ?

You may like your bars, but it is those that are pushing you back on your seat. Consider moving or changing them to bring you forward onto the sweet spot of the seat. You are sitting too far back on the bike at present and the frame is not designed for that!

I don't see how the bars would put you back that far. HD should be able to help you with yur prob. Go in on a slow day and find someone knowledgeble and try different ones out. Also, you might like the foot board extension kit from "Soos", here on the forum. 3/4 or 1'' KIT. i HAVE THE 1" AND LOVE IT. gOOD LUCK!

At 5' 10" I'd have to say you're exagerating a little on feeling comfortable on the strap...but, those Heritage bars have to suck. They were bent to be used down low like you have them set, which puts you further back in the seat. I think they're the worst bars anyone could put on a King. If you try to put them up in an Ape fashion the angles on the wrists are horrible. I'd try a different set of bars that will keep you forward a little more. Worry about the seat when the cat gets all the way through. Bars are usually the easiest and cheapest way to improve comfort.

I had a 1996 road king with the heritage bars and I thought it felt great. I am 6 ft. tall. sit in the seat and rotate the bars forward till it feels comfortable. I thought the wrist position was very comfortable. Road it for 6 years like that.
