Default SE 255 cams , D&D Fat-Cat dyno results

Stock 96cu. in. SE 255 Cams , D&D Fat-Fat 2 into 1 with a PCIII tuner! 83hp 98ft lbs of torque , this combo peaks at 2500rpm and pulls up to around 4000rpm! IMO not bad of a return on investment considering I got the Cat used at 1/3 of the new cost off the local craigslist!

so, what does the butt dyno tell you? impressed or not? surely that's a huge increase per dollar spent. lettuce know. that does look like a huge increase over stock.

Your numbers are about like I expect for a setup like yours, which is to say excellent. Could you post your dyno chart?

The 255's have a number of things going for them. For one, they are arguably the best low-end and midrange cams available for an otherwise stock TC96. Second, you can typically find these on Ebay for about $100 used, $150 new. IMO they are a great bang-for-the-buck upgrade for a heavy bagger if your priority is between 2000-4500 RPM's. Peak HP will increase some, but will peak at about 5K RPM. OTOH TQ is another story. It comes on strong from 2500-4500 and doesn't decrease in the extreme low-end. I don't know of any other aftermarket cams that will retain or increase the low-end with stock CR.

I did a write-up on my DIY cam job here.

I have some 255's that I'll gladly take $125 (+shipping) for....

Afterall, "they are arguably the best low-end and midrange cams available for an otherwise stock TC96". Just see the post above... It's right there in print!

Didn't get no dyno sheet but I was in the dyno room for the entire tune! Tuner worked 4 hrs overtime up to 22:00 last night so we where both pretty tired! Zach Johnson son of Kendall Johnson did the tune! http://kendalljohnsoncustoms.com/

How much did that work cost you? I live just north of Charlotte, and have heard good things about the Kendall Johnson shop.

Are you implying through irony they are not? If so, what is better along those parameters?

Perhaps: Andrews 26H or 37H, HQ 500 or 525, R&R 525, TMan 525, WildThings 1 or 2, & Woods 6-6 for starters. I'm sure I've overlooked several, but that's a start.

If you're happy, enjoy your ride, but a claim that it's "the best low~mid range cam available" is short sighted & mis-leading at best.

That said, different strokes..... not interested in arguing with you.
