Default Radial vs. Bias Tires

Have an '07 Electra Glide Standard. Time to replace tires and am considering Dunlop Elite 3's. Trying to get some insight on radial vs. bias, and what the experience has been between the two...?

Currently I am running Front: MT90B16 72H and Rear: MT90B16 74H. Found the 72H is a weight rating of 783lbs and the 74H is 827lbs, difference of 44lbs. (Rims size same front and back.) Could I run the same weight rating front and rear?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

you should be running an MU90b16 in the rear? why are you on a 130 rear tire when it came with a 140 rear?

YOu wont find radials made for Harley touring bikes that will meet your load requirements for the bike. I have looked over the web and asked Dunlop via email about radials and the told me they arent making any. But no answer as to why

I found Avon Venoms that met the requirements of my 07 RK, I think you mean that no one makes radials for the latest tourers. I had a (weight/speed) 81H on the rear and 74H on the front.

In fact for the 09's I havent been able to find any tyres except OEM.

As already stated, Dunlop doesn't offer Elite 3 radials that meet H-D touring bike requirements. The Dunlop Elite 3 tires that many of us are using on our touring bikes are bias ply, just like the OEM tires.

Think Radial Principle sounds good for aBike Trouble is as mentioned never found any that met load requirements.. But for now have no complaints with the Elite 3 Bias Ply..

I recently installed a et of Michelin Commanders on my bike and highly recommend them; smooth, quiet and handle better than the Dunlops. Time will tell about tire life.

Avon Cobras, radials, 17 rear, 18 front on an 09. Not exact on load rating but close nuff in my opinion. 3500 miles to Sturgis and back, 2 up loaded heavy, no problems. (knock on wood)
