With the Ohlin shocks on a bike, are modifications to the forks also necessary? That is usually the case on many other bikes. I may be interested, but I don't have the $ to do both the front and rear suspension.

Nor do I! I am planning to fit Ohlins first, as stage 1 of an upgrade for my bike. Rear suspension is my project for this winter. I think most Ohlins buyers just do the rear, from what I have read on HDF.

Perhaps winter of next year I will move on to stage 2 and upgrade the front forks, with either X-Factor or Traxxion cartridge inserts. If the ride with Ohlins is improved as much as is reported, the front end will beg to be improved too!

Was there a difference in unladen appearance from the stock SG shocks to 12.5" Progressives?
Thanks

I'm about ready to order up some of those #2, 13 1/4" Ohlins, with the 4" stroke.

I shitcanned my 12" stock air shocks on my 2010 Street Glide a while ago, because they were pure junk. I bought some 13" Progressive 440's because I really didn't know what to get. While the Progressives are an improvement over the stock Harley junk, they are not getting the job done. I want a better ride (more stroke and some rebound). I also put some Race Tech gold emulators in the front suspension...again, an improvement, but it could be better (still has very noticeable brake dive).

What would be a good compliment in the front with the #2 Ohlins in the rear?

Howard is working on a conversion kit to install Ohlins adjustable cartridges in the stock forks. I have Ohlins on the rear and am waiting for news on the forks! That will be my solution.

That's good news, I've been somewhat patiently waiting . . . . . still lovin' the Ohlins.

The Upside Down forks would be the cat's *** if one had deep pockets but the 25mm cartridges that may be available soon should be adequate, one side cartridge handles comp the other side will handle rebound. I have the 13.25 Ohlins and SE Heavy oil in the forks and I have seal leakage after every hard outing so I'm ready for fork maintenence and I'm waiting patiently for the Ohlin cartridges.............tick tock tick tock

The new top triple tree is being designed right now on MasterCam. I do not use a bandage, I fix the whole problem. The Pallet CNC machine was finally fixed after 2 months and 3 repair companies. The CCM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) just got fixed and another 3 weeks were wasted getting the machine/software to export. This is the programmer on the CMM as I am not that handsome. This is not easy to do producing something no one else does.

And this is a Pallet (red machine) CNC. It is very large.

I did the first test of my Ohlins today: I'm very happy, and to be honest I'm even very impressed with the result!
On my previous FLHX, I got Fournalčs air shocks (that's a french brand): they were already much better than stock shocks (but anything else would be better anyway!)...
But I can't remember so much difference and upgrading: with the Ohlins (I bought the "cheapest" model available here in Europe: HD 039 in 12"2), it's really like having a new bike and also a new seat!
The feeling is like riding a "flying carpet"!
Additionnaly, the forks seems to work also better!
