I'm doing my 3000 on my RG. I was going to go with redline Shockproof heavy in the trans. It has a 95 stage 1 and a 6 speed w/ a 30 trans pulley. I'm not sure if I'll be ok with the heavy or I should get the regular. I ride when it's cold in the early a.m , and I usually average 2500+rpm at 75mph for 5-600 miles straight on weekend rides. I saw someone else here was recommended the shockproof heavy, but he was dragracing his bike. Is this an ok oil to use instead of the syn3? (for this change, I will also be using the syn 3 in the motor and primary, but next change, I think I'll go to a mobil in the motor.
I would caution you against Syn 3 or Mobil 1. I don't know Redline, but have experience with both of the previously mentioned. As most of the folks on this site will agree, Amsoil is being widely used by many veterans. I, for one, am sold on Amsoil. I've used them now for almost ten years and seen all the comparitive tests they've done against other popular oils. And, I see no reason to change to something else.
However, there are other folks who are using other less-recognized name products. Maybe they can chime in?

I use Redline Shockproof Heavy in my tranny but I live in Phoenix where it's never cold in the morning this time of year. In fact it's hardly ever cold here any time of the year.
i use Shockproof LIGHT...because it rates like a 75/140(plenty) and flows like a 30wgt...its BLUE...my bike shifts very smooth...the Shockproof Light is what big time dragracers use in their rear ends and thats so much more abuse than your scoot will ever see
