If it's one thing I can't stand it's road rash. I had a buddy go down to avoid a head on with a drunk passing on a corner and the pavement went through his jeans like they weren't there. Two others went down, they were wearing leather and had not a scratch.
It ain't fun getting the wounds cleaned (scrubba scrubba) and then dealing with the infections, etc. No shorts for me, I prefer as much protection as the heat allows...
Let's see, it's 110+ degrees outside today in Phoenix. Should I dress up in jeans, long-sleeve shirt and boots to ride 2 miles to meet friends at a coffee shop or should I just hop on the scooter in the shorts and golf shirt I'm wearing with my sneakers ? Wanna bet I won't be changing ?
Seriously, I'm all for protection, but when it's this friggin hot out, I'll live with whatever injuries "may" occur and ride for survival from the heat rather then protection from the "what-ifs".
I hear you, but its jeans and boots for me no matter what the heat. I do have a pair of demi chaps that I can wear with shorts under them, but I haven't gotten them shortened yet.
