Hi, I could see your point if I was wearing earphones, but I'm plugging it into the stereo. For obvious reasons, I don't want a long wire running from my pocket to the stereo jack!

ok I also velcro'd it to the counel, but I ran the wire under the chrome stereo trim and into the fairing, and it comes out the bottom and from there I ran it under the gas tank counsel and into the area under the seat, I then when I want to use it, take the wireout from under the seat and attatch it to my ipod. when I"m not using it I can tuck the wire under the seat and the only thing visible is a small piece of velcro.

**I will tell you that if you are using a Ipod, the only one that will work without that risk of locking it up due to vibration is the Ipod nano. I found out the hard way... just some free advice if you want pictures of my install let me know.

I am using the Riders Claw and it works very well. Easy reach for my thumb to change the song and holds the Ipod well.

I put mine in the right saddlebag. I have an Alpine iPod compatible headunit though.

I have decided to go with this mount for either the IPOD or any phone. The clip on any of the phone or IPODs will clip to it. My biketronics radio has the USB port for IPOD charging and gives me complete control using my HD factory handlebar mounted controls. This mount looks great and you can use it for anything. Good luck and enjoy....

I'm using the Rider's Claw too, clean short cable to radio.

I also use the Ram Mount with the Ottor Box to make it water proof.

I ran the cable under the dash so that it comes up at the nose of the seat, then I put two little strips of velcro on the black part of the dash and the back of my ipod. You have to look for it to see that it's there. It's a great set up.

Industrial Velcro. I use earbuds though. Skull Candy to be exact. They are loud with great bass. You can't hear the wind noise when the music is playing.
