I went with this

Simple design, easy to install, easy to use and nice looking...and inexpensive!

IN my saddlebag turned off. Why do I need a phone on a bike? For tunes I will pick a playlist and throw in my shield bag, wrapped cord around brake line and is barely visible

Default phone on the bike

I use my phone for both the tunes and the GPS functions. Mapquest is a free application that you can download to the phone. Then you can go to Mapquest on your home computer, map out your route through the winding country roads, and save the route to Mapquest My Places. When you open Mapquest on your phone your route will be there and you can start riding. The GPS will lower the volume on the tunes while she is talking you through a turn and then turn it back up when your on track. Adding my cellphone GPS and Itunes is of the greatest things I've done for my riding experience in years.

I used to put my phone on the tank with a piece of velcroe. Now I'm using a Cyclone Custom Console. It works very well for me, and it has a locking cover with a removable window for rainy days.

I know you're referring to a dash mount for your fairing/stereo system, but on my RK I use JVC ear buds and my little iPod Shuffle. I clip the shuffle to my jacket and can operate it on the fly without ever taking my eyes off the road. Even with gloves on I can operate it. The sound is spectacular inside my 3/4 or FF helmet.

When I had my EGC I just plugged a jack into the iPod and then into the auxilliary plug in the stereo and it played through no problem.

I use the Riders Claw for my 6th gen iPod nano. Small mount that keeps the wire clean and hidden.

Anyone on here using the iPod stereo controller mounted in the saddlebag? Or the Sony head unit where the iPod / iPhone mounts in the head unit drawer?

I may be doing so stereo upgrades soon and am continually doing research.
