I got a 12 hp and 12lb torque increase on a stock TC88 on my 05 Ultra. BIG difference, especially two up and fully loaded. That was with V&H true duals and SE air filter. But, my mpg went down significantly. I now only get about 32-34 mpg. But it runs so strong that I am not going to mess with it for now. It has been like that for 2 years. Others will tell you they get better mileage from different tunes.
You must be getting the SEST being that you are getting one now.
HD has come along way in the developement of maps.
It makes a "big" difference on who is running the dyno also.
I have had mine on the dyno 3 times since I got a SERT 2 years ago. This last time they finally got the afr right.
Earlier I was going to switch to a PC but now I will stick with a SERT. It will definately get some more hp and tq out of the motor and a lot better than the stage 1 download.
I agree with Dr. V-Twin. I also have the SEST on my 09 Street Glide with SE AC and Reinhart slipons. I have not had it dynoed and probably will not. The only thing I don't know yet is oil temp because I have not yet installed a temp guage, but it runs great and I have never had any popping, misfiring, etc. So long as I am happy with how she runs, I am very unconcerned about gas mileage, since gas is probably the cheapest part of owning and operating.
Sert on an 08 Roadking here, runs great. Definite increase in HP & torque. Although I believe it can be tuned better by the right tuner. The Dyno guy will make or break ya. Unfortunately, not enough good tuners out there.
I bought the SERT when the 1K service was done along with A/C,SE slip ons.No dyno.
The bike ran great for the next 29000 miles.
No poping,etc-.42 average mpg.
Now that i did the 95",I did not have to go out and buy one.
Had the bike dynoed and it runs great. Now gets 45mpg average.
They make a large differance and you should do groups of improvements at a time or you will spend a fortune on dyno time.
So doing the air cleaner, pipes and tuner is good.
You will love it when you get it back.
If there are any driveability problems at all, just take it back and tell them where the problem is and they can retune that area.

Same experience on a 2005 Ultra. Main reason I got mine was for the performance, the "popping" on decel, and the heat -- OMG, the heat! Now the performance is better (4 years on the bike, 2 dyno's later) no popping, and the heat -- while still there -- doesn't cook you off the bike. And yes -- the MPG's now suck. 32 around town, 36 on the road -- if lucky...
