Default Temperature Alert Setting

I want to ask most of you that when you get stuck in traffic do you know at what temperature does your engine light start to blink for your engine running hot?

Here are some infra red picd I took of my 09 Ultra last weekend. I started it up...took a pic...then let it idle till the Engine Idle Temperature Management System kicked in.

I know on my 04 road king when the temp is getting too hot the engine light starts to flash slowly then as it gets hotter and hotter it starts to speed up the flashing until it stays solid,so is this just afeature they have done on 04's?

Hey Mark- it's a T-Max thing. And you can set it to throw a CEL at whatever head temperature you'd like (mine is set for 325).

I have a set of Dakota Digital Gauges. The Oil Temp gauge can be set for 232 or 278 degrees. When your oil temp exceeds the selected setting, the display flashes until the oil cools below the set temperature.

I think you on the road king for 04 the sensor for that engine light is for the cylinder heads.I have no oil cooler yet on my bike nor do i have one of those fans that sit in place of the horn.My bike gets hot very quickly if i'm sitting in traffic for 20 mintutes after already been riding hard and now you come to a dead stop surrounded by cars and all that heat.
