When my fuel goes to about a quarter of a tank my gauge starts jumping around from 0 to 1/4 and the low fuel light goes on. The first time it happened it scared the chit out of me. I was nowhere near a gas station. I try not to let it get that low but sometimes on a long trip it happens. Does this happen to anyone else? I guess the real gauge would be mileage but I always forget to reset the tripper when I fill up.
First thing the dealer told when I got my bike was to go fill the tank as soon as the fuel light came on I did and it took 4 gal to fill called him back and he said that was good because some bikes the light came on when you have a few oz left.
the gauge gets more sensative the lower the fuel.
Hope this helps
Here we go again. The Stealer says it's normal. Anyone know why the carbureted bikes have a reserve and fuel injected models don't. Reserves were always my gauge.
Yepper! I have had the same issue since it was new. The first time was a heart bouncer. I have had to rely on the ole trip odometer ever since. Can't say much for the temperature gauge either.
