i've bought and installed the module and lenses in my last three harleys, no problems. i think it's the best modification you can do for safety. it sure does light up the end of the bike. if i remember right, it only makes the rear turn signals operate as running lights as well as turn signals. no brake light function. the stock brake light is plenty obvious when you apply the brakes.
if the heat bothers you, you can always do the mod that deletes the running light function to the turn signals. i actually prefer that due to how bright the running lights are, it looks like your brakes are on all the time.
Recently got a rear light module and it works when I first hook it up. But after turning the key off all the light continue to flash including the headlight? any ideas??
That was one of the first upgrades I did. I installed it per the kit, and everyone that road behind me stated the same thing. "it looks like your brake is on all the time"....
I swapped the orange lens back on and painted the inside of the reflector / tailight bar. I went with this set up because it distinguished the brake light from the turn signal. Again orange vs. red
Here is a photo of it, this softened the brightness.
Most state law requires red on the back , but never had an issue or have been questioned
The lenses did get warm, not hot, I went and bought red LED brake light bulb ,with orange lens.
I also installed an LED bulb on the main brake light...with no load equalizer, because I still have enough load from the stock bulbs on the turn signals in front to make them flash
This set-up has been installed almost 3 yrs without any problem
