Just installed the HD run, turn signal module. It works great except the turn/brake lights are'nt very bright when you apply the brakes. Does anyone have this problem?? Do I need to install a dual filament bulb like the one in the brake light?? Any ideas on fixing the problem??
first of all, you can't replace the bulb with a dual filament. they have two contacts, where as the turn signal only has one. i replaced my lenses with clear lenses, and on the rear put in red bulbs. i think they work great and are bright enough. course, you can never have too much light back there with all them cagers running around.
Bob, the kit is OK. Wait untill your in the dark of night, they're fine. For the price of the kit, we got more light on our ***, that's one of the real purposes. My .02 Dave
I Used Kuryakyn and also went to the LED's on the brake & directionals... Work GREAT!
I also have the Kury module, but haven't found a high-output replacement bulb for the center brake light. It is a funky blade-type mount that I haven't seen before, so the usual 1157-variety upgrades won't fit it. Exactly what are you using?
I'm told my two turn-signal bulbs with red lenses are very bright, even though they're the stock 1156-variety bulb, but the center light needs more oomph. If it was a stardard bayonet-mount like the 1157 I could replace it with a quartz bulb.
Before I replaced the back light with a panel led, I had a 3357 bulb. The running light is the same but the brake light component is about twice as bright.
