For those of you who got the new HD version of the Zumo 660 and have had a chance to use it most of the summer.....how's it working for ya?? reliable, accurate, easy to view, etc?
Also let us know which install method you went with or like the best.
I have one and love it. Easy to use no wait crazy easy to use. Installed the bike mount, wired into the battery, using a 2 way plug that was already attached to the battery for a battery charger. Ran the audio cable be hide the fairing to the right side of the fairing into the Aux.
Just bought my RoadTech 660 last week.. going on a 2,000 mile trip to Big Ben shortly...well give you a newbie review after.. I bought the Garmin handlebar mount rather than one of the Harley's.. will let you know how it works...
hdbe,
If you ever want to mount it on your Softail without speakers, drop me a line. I did a set up on my RKC with a Powerlet Plus handlebar mount, a Sony Bluetooth receiver and earbuds. Fine with a windscreen but without the wind noise is too great over 50 MPH.
I have a Nextar 43LT that I paid 129.00 for that works great. Has alot of the same features as the Zumo. I have it mounted on a Kuryakyn gas cap bracket. Not water proof, but I do have a cover that I can slip over it in the event that it does start to rain.
I have the 660 and am very happy with it. I also recommend putting a big memory card and loading all the tunes. It is a very easy unit to use and the display works great in bright sunlight.
I bought the HD 660 at Chi HD a few weeks ago. Love it. Wish it had the FM transmitter like most other new Garmin's tho. Using it with the HD mount..clean looking...and hardwired into the battery.
I do have the HD branded unit. I chose the dash mount. I am not very mechanically minded so I wanted a clean install. I am very happy with the unit and the install.
