Short story, 117 Axtell with D&D fat cat 2 into 1with quiet baffles, Heads done by Baisely, SE Throttle Body 58mm TW6 Cams, High Flow AC, 5.31 injectors, TTS Tuner. It has a wonderfully smooth powerband and my Indy is a master tuner, he was trained by the best and is a superb tech. The HP is 114.37 and the Torque around 129.55. Now here's the deal... we cannot get rid of the popping on decel. Down hill a 2,000 rpm it's most noticeable. We just tuned and retuned and it just won't go away... He thinks their might be an exhaust leak and is thinking of welding the collector to the pipes. There is no physical evidence of an exhaust leak, but I'm wondering if the pipes are just wrong... should they be Borzilla and not the Fat Cats? Any input would be appreciated. Oh yes, it is an 08 FLHRC with fly by wire and abs, probably not critical info. We have had some issues with oil temp, but we seem to have resolved that and the hottest it gets is 250 ish, riding today 85 outside, cruising at 70 and then stop and go, it hovered between 220- 230. Help please? Oh yes, corrected dyno sheet, shows 119.72 hp and 135.62 torque. I just love this bike!!!!
Its a TTS tuner, sounds like a exhaust leak, try putting liquid exhaust gasket on the connections. Did you use the SE gaskets? if so try the stock gaskets they seat and hold better.. From what I read I think the fatcat is fine for your build.
Could be the cutoff feature of the tuner if it only happens on the down hill steady throttle riding. There is a tech term for it but cant remember.

Using Lucas right now, the Indy does not like the synthetics... and frankly I change the oil at about 2000 anyway;however, I've been reading about syn actually dropping temp. I did try Amsoil and it actually increased the temp by 10 degrees. Thinking about another whirl, mobil is easy for me to get and i wonder about the cleanable filters that are supposed to do a much better job and reduce heat because they are finned. What do you think.
