I know that I am faily new here and have really enjoyed both reading your posts/threads and as well I have also learned a great deal.
Before I post a question here, I do a forum search and internet search becaase the vast majority of answers to these questions can be found in a matter of minutes.
I would like to see the forum focus on more opinions as to what's good in the Harley world, what's bad in the Harley world (pics are great) and what's new in our world. I have already grown tired of so many questions about "what size is this bolt", how much does this weigh?" PLEASE research your questions and then if you can't get answers, then this is the place to come.
Most here have forgotten more than I will know but I think that as a motorcycle enthusiast, it's my responsibility to at least try and find my own answer!!!

I don't know. I understand what you are saying............BUT, sometimes the search thing ain't so hot. Also, sometimes a topic is rehashed that you forgot about, or somebody has new info on it and a re-discussion is good. Also, last but not least, not all of us are computer people. We know just enough to be dangerous. I can't stand the arrogant bturds that jump on posters that obviously aren't computer guys (like me) and don't really know how to navigate a forum. I have looked and looked but can't seem to find the rule book on how to do things on the internet. To me it is just as easy to skip a post that is a repeat rather than jump on somebody that dared to ask a question. If you are that much of a GEEK you probably belong on the "wind powered motorcycle forum or "Vespa" forum or something similar. Like Jrsess said, "It is what it is."
I have found this forum to be very informative, and most of the time, to the point. Now, if you want to compare, I suggest you go to the Cycle Chat forum. It seems that now every other post is nothing more than please pray for my neighbor, or I'm getting divorced. I guess what I'm saying is this. At least we discuss motorcycles 95 % of the time. And usually you will find an answer to your question pretty fast. I'm diggin this forum.
I notice this is a cycle, every new model year we get more new members, they ask "dumb" questions, if you dont like them dont read them. I am okay with it, some really funny posts plus thats what the forum is for. I suggest when you see one of these posts you should chime in with advice like search for ----- keyword in the search section. This is a friendly forum and the best I have found. When I was a new HD owner I got a lot of great guidance from here and feel oblidged to pass what I have learned/experienced on to others in an effort to help others.
