I installed a PC III on my 2000 Ultra. I tried to do it the way they say and run the cables from the left side in front of the battery box to the right side so the box could mount on the cruise control. To do this I had to take the batter out and remove 4 ground wires attached to the frame just in front of the battery box. (The connecter would not fit through the left side until I did this) Then I found there was no way the connecter was going through the right side so I punted and just put the box and all under the left side cover. (10 lbs in a 5 lb bag). When I put everything back together I checked all of the bikes electrical functions and found the rear speakers now stay on unless I cut the speakers completely off. Is there any chance the grounds or anything could do this. HELP!!! I know, I know...not a bad problem but I like everything to be operable on the bike.
PS....Love the PC III throttle response.
Are you saying the rear speakers stay on when the radio is off?
Does the volume control work?
You can adjust the fade from front to rear.
It is always helpful to know what bike you have.
It is normal for both front and rear to play all the time if the radio is on and you have the fade set in for both speakers.
I do not see how a ground would change it to do that. It means you have power going to the speakers all the time.
On the ultra there is a switch that lets you choose between speakers off, front only, or all speakers. The grounds should have nothing to do with the this.
It's the button that cuts the speakers off. In the middle position the front speakers only should be on. When the light is on and the button is in the 3rd position, all speakers are on.
hmmm, I guess I need to get my owners manual out again, because I thought when the green light was on that means you could hear the radio AND cb thru the speakers and when the button was in the middle position all speakers were on and when the button was in the off position you could hear the cb/radio thru the headset only.

That is how mine works as well. The only way to turn my rear speakers off is with the fader control. Maybe 2000s are different.
