I use it and like it. 20-50 in crank and primary, 75-140 Severe Gear in the tranny. Is it the best? Who knows. Is it good stuff? Yes.

I know there are 1000 different opinions out there on this. But it seems like amsoil is starting to follow Harley with there syn3. Now Amsoil is recommending 20/50 in all 3 holes. Not sure if I like the 20/50 for the tranny vs 75/90 or higher. Thoughts?

All this talk about oil got me thinking. They have us convinced we need oil, but do we really? Has anyone run their bike without oil to see how long it lasts? Maybe, just maybe, this oil thing is overrated. What if we never had to add, change or leak oil, just don't run any at all? Maybe the premature motor death would be offset by the savings in oil. I'm going over to my neighbor's to convince him to try this and see how long his new EGC goes, he's a newbie, he'll bite.

I use it in both my wife's 08 FLSTN and my 09 FLHX; 20W-50 in crank, 75-140 Severe Gear in the transmission. Good stuff!

20/50 in the motor and 75/140 in the tranny. For now left over syn3 in the primary, 3 qts to go....

I run AMSOIL in all my bikes and ATV. My Harley gets 20w-50 MCF in the crank and
primary and 75w-140 in my Screaming Eagle 6 speed. Been using AMSOIL for a good
15 years and have never had an oil related problem in a bike.
Ride safe,
Dano

I just switched from Amsoil to Mobile 1 because my dealer quit carying it. It's no better than Mobil 1 but was more convenient to buy, now Mobil 1 is.
