I figured it would happen sooner or later. The Bride's heel made contact with the port side bag lid on the top leading edge. [sm=oopssign.gif]Real nice scuff mark that a quick wax job wouldn't touch. What do y'all recommend I try next. I wouldn't think I need to go to the extent of the wet sanding deal.
You know that happened............ I didn't say a thing until the next time we rode. She came out of the house all ready to go and I said you ain't allowed to wear shoes on the scooter anymore. She knew right then what I was talkin about. Course when she looked at it, she said aw that ain't nothin, you can get that out. I'm not barkin too loud, cuz someday my my boot will likely do the same.
3-m fine cut polish will take it out for ya, as long as its in the clear coat still. If you can see white still your'e O.K. it will polish ou easily.
Hey thanks for the info
Scuffed my right saddle bag lid not too long after I got the bike.
Have tried Mcguires scratch and scuff to no avail.
will try the 3M
Seems like this is a very common occurance........happens to all of us with hard bags. I've had to go the touch-up paint route and wet sand. I've learned to apply a little square of 3M clear film on that spot......practically disappears, and it goes on dry. I use the stuff under the forward portion of the seat where it contacts the tank, as well. The wholesaler of the product gave me a 14" x 10" peice of the stuff.......I'd bet you guys can beg your local tinter/invisible shield shop for some scraps.
