HAHA!!! This is the REAL deal! I am doing a 54 build on a 106 as I type... I sold all kindsa crap to keep this going.

HAHA

Me??? I asked Bean (Big Boyz Head Porting)what cam I should run with how he wanted to port my heads. After all the obligatory questions, I said that I LIKED my 21s.

Bean said, "Let's do a 54 build, then". And I am.

I'm VERY anxious to get this started up!!! Purposely taking breaks so I don't screw things up as bad! HAHA

Hey Ryan... I bought a Bosscat, and it looks like performace quiet baffle in it... That's the standard baffle for 09 bikes. Do you notice that dip while putting around? Or is it a mental "dammit" thing? If you never saw the run sheet, would you know it was there?

I'm going to have Herko tune my bike next month and we can see if I have that or not, too.

I am looking for more stuff to sell right now. I want some new rims and a chrome front end.

I forget about it everytime I put the sheet away and start the bike up
Have seen good results with bigger CI builds using the performance baffle, and was gonna give that a try but didnt want to give up any low end. Interesting how the dip only shows up on bagger builds. Faast Ed is running a FC on his 103 build, no dip on the Softail though.
Been watching your progress wurk, on here and over on vtf. Look forward to seeing the outcome.

No matter what you do CMA, do it right the first time. It will never be cheaper then it is right now. If you do some now, some later. It will be more expensive.

Ryan... I would like to HOPE that ONE person reads your words, and does his/hers build ONE time, the RIGHT way. It is why I have sold stuff to keep it going... ONE TIME and done correct has been my motto on this. ALL parts need to MATCH. The cam, the compression ratio, the heads, the intake and the exhaust, if a person matches these items with his riding style... he will have such a nice riding bike it would be impossible to explain beforehand, you know?

Also, DAMN.... I want a chrome front end on the ole SG, too!!! HAHAH

The irony of it all. I'm in the same perdicament, ie. financial restraint, of successfully building an HQ107ST.(3 daughters in college.....uuggghhh) I can get the SE parts way cheaper and this is the avenue I'll have to take.

I'm going SE 103 with SE255 cams w/Jim's manual compression releases for a total of $500 in parts with free labor. I'll measure the deck height and set the quench with cometic gaskets per suggestions from key builders in the forum. I'll be letting Ed Dahir from The Dyno Difference tune the build and I'm optimistic of very decent street manner ridability. Not real concerned about big ole numbers, just want a superb tune to complement a super build and a gob of low end stump pulling torque to get me out of the hole 2-up.

Hoping the build is done next weekend if my builder is up to it.

Good luck to you as well.

You'll really like the 103" and the SE 255's actually. You will really like Ed's tune also

Thanks for the feedback Kev. We'll have to hook up when the tune is done.
