Not real concerned about big ole numbers, just want a superb tune to complement a super build and a gob of low end stump pulling torque to get me out of the hole 2-up. .
Are the compression releases necessary?

Hell 3 daughters in college, then getting married, my advice is get everything done now for soon you will be a very poor man hehe. Congrats on the build, I must have missed your build thread, if you can swing the HQ 107 go for it if not the SE 103 with the HQ 500 cam worked well for me right at 100/103 hp tq. Just get a good tune and do it once.

Hoping the build is done next weekend if my builder is up to it.

Good luck to you as well.

A mechanic at work that has the same build was getting hot starts. Put in the ACR's and problem solved. I'm going to place the comp. releases in the heads while the heads are out to be on the safe side.

Jerry, you don't know how bad I want the HQ setup but my girls have always come first. I'll get them setup in their careers and then it'll be me time!! I dropped the SE255 cams in last week(again, cost related), but still haven't ridden the bike due to all the rain and then work. I don't even know how the cams feel....LOL! I'll probably just tear it back down and build the SE103 since I can get the parts cheap and the labor is free. I'm shooting for this coming weekend, but waiting on the Cometic gasket(s) may be a hold up. I'll keep ya posted.

Phil, in the context of this thread, do you recommend Manual or ACR's? Thanks

I ONLY recommend and use manual compression releases.

The autos can and DO fail ~ I know someone that has experienced it.

The Manual releases will NEVER fail to open, as long as YOU press them.

To compound the issue of the ACR's, they are NOT easy and/or quick to change ~ certainly not a roadside thing.

Suggest the blue top ones.

Those little f'ers get HOT & the metal ones get too hot to touch. Don't ask how I know!
