Default HD Security Siren

Yesterday I picked up my new bike,09 EGC,Flame blue pearl/pewter pearl,WOW is an understatement.I loved my 06 standard, but this thing is amazing.I'll get some new pics this weekend. My question is will the HD Security Siren that I had on my 06 work on my 09,and where does it connect to.
I had the turn/brake/module on my rear lights and found out that it doesn't work on the 09.I'll buy the new run/turn/brake module and modify it with instructions from here.

What are you going to modify on a new run/turn/brake module?

There is a thread on here telling you how to rewire the run/turn/brake module so it operates as a turn/brake module, which I prefer.

I have a 09 also and wanted to have the brake and turn signal brake without the running option, I wrote to badlands and they told me how to do it, just snip the BLUE wire out of the modual it works great ! below is copy of the email he sent me hope this helps you !

Hi Bill,

You can use our ILL-01-A Plug-In Illuminator module to do that. You would
just need to cut and insulate our blue wire to defeat the running light
mode. (Make sure to ONLY cut the wire coming directly out of the module, NOT
the jumper that continues the blue wire to the rear fender plug.) We
generally don't recommend this as having the additional running lights is a
good safety feature, particularly at night. However since your FLHX has the
tri-bar light at the bottom of the fender, you're probably okay. I'd still
prefer to have the extra running lights, but it's up to you!

Also, the ILL-01-A has the Load Equalizer III circuit built-in, so no
problem for the LEDs.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.

Thanks,
Dan

It should work. I had a siren in the garage from my other '05 and it popped right in my '09 and works fine. On the '09, the siren goes behind the left side cover. Remove the left saddlebag and that will allow you to remove the left side cover. Look for a harness and plug at the very bottom of the fuse panel area. That is the siren plug. Right now it is plugged into a blind hole. Remove it and plug into your siren and pop the siren into those 3 tabs you see located in the upper left of the fuse panel area.

Take care,
Dave

Is the siren different from softails and touring?
I have a siren from an 05 heritage that will be traded in on a 2010 ultra next week.

My '05 is a softail. The siren from it fit the '09. It is the plain basic HD siren and it fit right in.

Take care,
Dave
