If it is an adaptor that screws onto your existing stem, is there enough space between the spokes to screw it on? Also, it would possibly upset tire balance, so doing it at tire change time as noted above is the best time to do it.

There's an adapter that just screws on? Huh. That's just what I need for the air shocks stem.
Last week I took a 2000 mile trip and they were perfectly fine. There was nothing odd about the balancing of the wheels with them on and they make it a whole lot easier to check pressure and add air.
If they were going to make the 28-spoke cast wheels this way, they should have used these valve stems from the factory. Otherwise, it's difficult and unpleasant every time you check the air pressure, and almost impossible to add air with some air chucks.
Is there a truely 90* air chuck that can be used? The only ones I can find are "almost 90*" but not quite so requires flexing the valve stem outwards to get an air chuck on it.
Thanks for that link Cookiemech. I ordered up a pair of them...even though it'll be awhile until my next change (barring unforeseen circumstances). It'll be nice to have them on hand at the time.
