Unhappy harmon kardon problems

ok i have an 06 SG with the Harmon Kardon stereo to day the sound just stoped and hasnt come back on. did the search thing and it sounds like its toast. some had theres replaced under warrenty. but some looked like new bikes. (under two years old) i have the extended warrenty, that should cover it? yes, no. i will call my dealer tomorrow, they love it when i call and bitch... any input would greatly be appreciated. thanks

Regardless what happens...under warranty or not, aftermarket or repair... be sure to check the fairing brackets. More often than not, the no audio issue on 06 bikes is caused by vibration damage often resulting from broken fairings. If you get nowhere with your dealer, check out Iron Cross Audio.

If it's something you can't fix yourself IMO you'd be better off investing in a good aftermarket headunit and a control box(Biketronics or Hawg Wired) so the handlebar switches will remain working for ya.

I had a problem with the screen after ridding in a hard rain. It quit working. Wrote a letter to HD customer service. They said to take it to dealer and let them diagnois it. Did that and got a new radio...no charge. This was in July this year and my bike is an 06 Electra Glide Classic with 26000 miles and no extended warranty.

went to American Harley in Leominster Ma. felt like they treated me like royalty. i havent had any warrenty work done yet. they said they would go through the bike and fix all the common problems with the 06 glides and they have an exchange radio on hand. all for the 50.00 dollar deductible for the extended warrenty. this will pay for the warrenty. so much nicer then South Hampton Harley.
