Default Detachable sissy bar hardware

I am looking to buy sissy bar and back rest for my 2006 road king. i was wondering how hard it is to install the hareware. I am not a stranger to a wrench, just trying to save a little $$$$ so i can buy other stuff,LOL

Its not too bad, you just have to follow the directions carefully as they are for many models at the same time and some of the hardware that comes with the docking kit wont be neccesary for your bike, so dont be suprised when you have leftover pieces. One installed you will find that It works VERY well. Good Luck.

Pitch the directions before you even start.... Go to the dealer, find a bike with the install.. Stare at, then go home and do it.. It's easy unless you use the directions..

The directions are pretty much crap as they discuss way to many variables but look at the parts and orientation. It is easier if you can see a bike with one.

Installed one on my Street Glide, I agree with other the directions are the worst I ever saw. I pitched them and did the install using the hunt and peck method. Not too bad, maybe a couple of hours.

Have to agree, I just put on the hardware on my back and found that the directions were horrible. It was a lot easier looking at another bike and going from there.

I lucked out -- my buddy has already put the kit on his '03 RK and "volunteered" to put mine of my '06 RK. That left me time to put on a bunch more chrome.
