I went and got the HD soft ones. They have been used many times and work great for me. The best thing is that they have a built in loop in the tie down so the only thing on the metal is the soft material and not a metal hook.
Im sure there are lots of others, but I like the HD ones
Never used the 1", but I'm sure they'd be fine. It's very good quality. You attach them just like any other tie down, I just prefer to use 6 straps for added security.

Aside from a good tie down, a trick that works for me is putting a small scissor jack under the frame once the bike is tied. This eliminates any bounce, also you don't have to pull the suspension down so hard.
I use four of the 1" wide ratchet-type tiedowns. I think the ones in my garage are rated around 1000 pounds each. The slip-fit ones are better suited to lighter bikes.
Resist the temptation to go with the wider straps with the ratchet you can put your hand through. You can actually put too much stress on your bike with the big ones.
If you like the soft loops (and I do) it makes hooking the hook to your bike a lot simpler.
