Default Cobra Fi2000R question

I bought a used Cobra Fi2000R fuel management system from a fellow board member and installed on my '08 SG. He did not have the oxygen eliminators so I just disconnected the oxygen sensors. The bike runs much better now. My question is: do I need to order and install the oxgen eliminators from Cobra ($35 shipped) or can I just cover the oxygen sensor connectors to keep the dirt/water out and be ok?

I was told you don't have to use it, but why would you have it and not use it. Ride safe.

there are 2 versions of them the fi2000r (uses eliminators adjusts like a pc3) and the fi2000r 02 (uses the 02 sensors to read data and adjust fuel sort of like the pcv w/ auto tune, although no where near as adjustable or powerful)

Seems to me it wouldn't be used to it's full potential without the sensors. I'd spend the $35.

The oxygen eliminators do not connect with the Fi200R (not sure realy what they even look like). The Fi200R unit that I have connects between the fuel injector fittings only. I think the newer version has connections that go the the oxygen sensors and make self adjustments. Mine has 3 dials on the main body that you set according to how your bike is set up.
