I have the HD heated grips and have not had good luck keeping them working. I've had repairs done 4 times all under warranty but my warranty is up in 3 weeks and I will not fix them again. If they stop working again I want to try Heat Demons by Kuryakyan. Anyone tried the Heat Demons and how long have you had them installed??
My friend and I both installed them on our bikes last year and they worked great. You'll need to drill a hole in the handlebar, but it's a realitively easy process especially compared to the HD heated grips for the 09's. They really get warm. Only had them a year before trading my 05 in on an 09 and am in the process of installing the new HD heated grips since heat demons won't work with the new electronic speedo systems. go for it. I just saw them on easternperformance for a little over $100. great value.
Vince
got them on my RG and they are great, I've also fitted them to several other Harleys, they work well with HD grips but not so well with the Kuryakyn ISO grips.

A company called Symtec manufactures the Heat Demons, go on to their website for more info www.symtec-inc.com.
I have had them on my 04 SEEG and they worked great.
They work great but one suggestion for fairing and road king bikes. 1.) Extend all the wires so they come out the hole you drill in the bars and make the connections there. It will save you alot of trouble. 2.) be really carefull tightening the screws for the controller or it will break.
I have had Heat Demons for almost 2 yrs. They work great for me. The install wasn't difficult at all. I decided to solder the connections inside the bar instead of using the supplied connectors. I use them a lot more than I expected.
I had heated grips installed years ago on my bike, we used the same one that they put in snowmobiles, they got nice and hot, I LOVED them! And they were WAY cheaper then the ones they make for bikes It's funny but I'm told that they are the same. LOL
I have had mine for about 2 years and love them. 4 heat settings, switch housing for easier installation of switch. They were $99 when I bought them but it looks like the price has gone up. They are now $119 where I bought them, www.squadfitters.com .
Prior to these, I had a cheaper product made by symantec. But the element was much lower quality and one of the elements actually melted inside the bars. They also required that you install a switch somewhere. With the heat demons, the switch is housed in the included housing... much nicer.
