Took delivery this monday, dropped it yesterday coming into my driveway and still have not figured out what I did wrong. Making a right into driveway slowed down, bike in 1st tapped rear brake then throttled a little, raised myself up slightly. The undercarriage scraped and over she went.
Haven't dropped the Ultra yet, been 60 days and counting. However the Road King got dropped with wife on the back. Chapter run and overnighter. When we stopped at the motel we were just setting on the bike maybe 10-15 seconds and bang over we went. Looked like the old guy on a TV show called Laugh In years ago who would repeatedly fall over for no apparent reason. The last time it got dropped was in the garage, got all out of shape putting it on the center stand and over it went. Got it back up and damn if I didn't drop it all over again. NO damage no injury but when you lift it twice in a row you really find out how heavy baggers are.
Those that have been down, those who are going down and then the ones that are going down again, and those who will never admit it.
Out of the 28 years of riding, never once dropped one putting it on the jiffy stand or manuvering trying to park.
But I have laid (4) bikes down due to poor anticipation(2) in curves and the other one was the brakes failed, the last one was caught up in a cross wind from a semi and going way tooo fast for my own good. All of that happened in my teens and twenties.
Never dropped a buy in 28 years then I go out and get a Road King and a month later, BAM. No serious damage (except to ego) and I made sure that no neighbors were watching.
OK.. not bike related, but this reminded me of something. I was backing my wife's 2 seater sports car out of the driveway. I scaped the rear fender along my mailbox, in my rear view mirror I saw my neighbor across the street RUN into his house to get his wife to come see. As fast as I could I threw the car in 1st gear and popped right back into the garage and closed the door. I then went to the window and saw the two of them come out the front door to see what I had just done.
I need to mention, I do not care for this guy, nor his wife. She came over my yard one time to gossip like we were friends, I walked in my back yard and shut the gate on her mid-sentence. When I first moved into the house one of her "friends" told me if I ever wanted to know anyone's business to ask her as she "makes it a point to know".
No, technially I haven't in the first week (seven days) but, on the eigth day I crashed into a woman who was talking on her cell, applying make up and who knows what else that slammed on her brakes (without fnctioning brake lights) trying to avoid a car in front of her turning left.
Wasn't following too close at all...still my fault though.
Man, was I ever bummed. First time down in over 35 years!!
From the look of the numbers, there are more liars than any other category. That would include guys that dropped it but won't own up and guys who voted but don't own a bike and have never ridden.
Sitting at a stop sign 3 weeks after I got my 01 Road King C and a kid was crossing in front of me, and decided to do a you turn. I remember looking at his face when he slamed into the side of me. Lost one reflector and scrached the crashbars on the underside. After spending a long time in the wheel chair, and upgraded to a cane, I was in the garage seeing if I could just sit on her and hold it up right for the first time. Pushed it up with the good leg and went over on the bad leg. After a few more days in the hospital and getting back out of the wheel chair and on to the cane... I'm back to riding...lol

There are those that have and those that will, it's a matter of time. I got it over the 1st week. I was moving it around in the driveway and the front wheel came of the pavement and down into the grass. I tried to pull the front wheel back up onto the driveway and weight got away from me and I gently laid it down in the grass. Got a neighbor's help to lift it back up. No damage.
