Not yet, and not in my five years of riding. This is my first year with SG and I aways worry about dropping her. With Sprotster and Fatboy I could wrestle them back, but if SG goes too far, I can feel there is no turning back.

I did get clipped by an older lady a couple weeks ago, passing me on the right while I was making a right turn. She clipped the crash bar and the center bolt that screws into the frame put a small rip in the frame. I learned that this is a frame replacement, so I am out of commissiion for a while. Service guy said I could remove the crash bar to avoid this problem, but I figure it is more likely that the crash bar will save damage. I am having saddle bag crash bars installed also.

I thought I was goning to never drop this bike but about 2 weeks ago after 18months of ownership I picked a gravel shoulder to remove jacket and chaps it was getting hot out. Stopped ok removed said clothing and remounted and began to take off and the gravel was much deeper and looser than expected and I hesitated and tipped over to the right. The shoulder sloped slightly to the right and there was no way because of the footing available that I could pick the bike up and yes I do know the proper way. I am on a little traveled secondary road and I thought this might take awhile for someone to come by and help but not more than 30 seconds goes by and a guy my age (57) comes by and stops and says---Yup I've done that before and before you know it I am up and on my way. Only minor scratches to the bag quards and front crash bar.

Lessond learned pick a better spot to disrobe.

Long story short... we pulled into get gas from a closed gas station.. everything closed on Sundays after 1800 in Germany. So we decided we would go to base and I took the lead. Upon the exit to the street I saw a SUV flying like a bat outta heck coming down the street and I got a little heavy on the front brake. I was 2up with the wife on back. I have asked her numerous time during a slow turn not to lean... well she did... and I had all I could do to keep the bike up during the stop... You'd think nature would kick in and she would put her feet down as well... Nope... So I laid my UC down on the guards very easily. The first thing she did when she FINALLY got off was complain at me. I gave her "the eye" through my Oakleys... she saw it and immediately stopped. My buddy came over to help me upright the bike and give it a quick look over. No Damage! Seriously I thought I would've had some small marks, but none... the odometer did say "TILT" though which we both laughed about. We went directly home for further inspection... no damage!

A couple days later I was washing the bike, dried her, and proceeded to walk her from the left side into the garage. I was thinking this was a bad idea simply because of her weight and if I got off balance the bike would drop. I put the jiffy down and proceeded to walk her in. Well along the way the jiffy must have rubbed the carpet in my garage and move far enough back to be behind the stopper... I heard a snap and had to catch the bike... NOT AGAIN... I spoke the entire Cuss Languange dictionary in about 30 seconds. I laid the bike down on the carpet... regained my composure and picker her up. I set the jiffy, put her in 1st, and slowly put the bike on the stand. WTH!

I promised her I would never do that again... especially since both sides have touched the ground.

That's my stories and I'm sticking to it!

I dumped mine, after backing out of the garage I parked on the slopping drive way to shut the door with the bike running. It vibrated off the stand and went over before I could catch it. Won't do that again!

Hell no ... not in the first week. Took me about 7 months.

Riding very slow in a parking lot and a car pulled out of a parking space right in front of me. Turned the bars to the left and hit the front brake. Well you know what happens when you do that. No damage except to my pride. It happened to be one of my employees and she didn't even stop when she saw me go down. Errr past employees that is.

Not yet, but I'm worried fate is working its best to get me. Have had my Road King for 3 weeks so far and have had three close calls: 1. Hit oil on the deck at the gas pumps. 2. Pulled into a newly graveled driveway 2 up. 3. Had to immediately stop in a slow left U turn when an idiot sped through the parking lot.

I recovered from all but I'm thinking WTF since that's more close calls in such a short time than I've experienced in 18 years of riding with my rice burner. Hasn't come close from keeping me riding every chance I get, though! Luv that machine.

NFW!

I hate to admit it, been riding for 38 years, never owned a brand new bike until this past Monday, I purchased the bike 150 miles away in NC because Rocky Mount HD gave me the best deal I could find, anyways... I trailered the bike home, undid the 4 rachet straps used to tie the bike down, lowered the tailgate and looked up at the bike and noticed the bike was standing too straight up, then all of a sudden it started falling to the right and I'm running as fast as I can to stop the fall but was about 1.5 sec. late, the fairing caught the side rail of my trailer and damage an area about 3/4 of an inch.... It was the worse feeling I've had in a long time, almost sick to my stomach... I will get it back to brand new looking and try to forget about it.

Happy now Mike?
