I'm curious how much you like the denim paint. Is it easy to take care of?

In a word, I love it. It is by far and away easier to care for that gloss clearcoat and has many different shades depending on the lighting. It is beginning to 'develop', like a leather jacket, small imperfections in the patina that make it unique. Windex or Harley Gloss and a rag is all that is needed for most cleanings. You can wipe gasoline off the tank with a cloth, try THAT on glossy paint!

I trailered the bike home, undid the 4 rachet straps used to tie the bike down, lowered the tailgate and looked up at the bike and noticed the bike was standing too straight up, then all of a sudden it started falling to the right and I'm running as fast as I can to stop the fall but was about 1.5 sec. late, the fairing caught the side rail of my trailer and damage an area about 3/4 of an inch.... It was the worse feeling I've had in a long time, almost sick to my stomach... I will get it back to brand new looking and try to forget about it.

Happy now Mike?
Now I posted this thread for my good friend Mark. he really felt like...well sick...after getting his bike home and telling me the above story shortly after as we took our first ride with his new scoot. I wanted to help by letting you guys share your own 'horror' stories...Turned out to be a very therapeutic thread in a way....Looks like we are in a big but pretty exclusive club, we'll call it the 25%'s..... LOL

The Hogg Chopps look good too. I installed mine just before Sturgis. I like em.

I had to ask my daughter to leave (I have to pay $.25 for every curse word and that cuts down on language) but I told her I couldn't afford to pay her for what I was about to say. Wife came out, laughing, after she saw I was ok and said "well I'm glad you got that chit over with'. Some minor damage, mostly to my ego, so it was all good.

SO....how many of you have dropped, wrecked or otherwise damaged your new or new to you bagger within a very short time?
THis should be fun
Gathering all the wood in the house so I can knock on it, but no. The closest I came was a trip to see my parents on a very cold night. Mid 30's, 1AM, 6 hour ride kind of cold. Get to the house, park the bike next to the golf cart (yeah, they're retired!), bring most of my gear into the house. Ten minutes later I go out to retrieve the remaining items and without even touching the bike, I watch it slowly fall to the left into the golf cart. WTF?? Fortunately the driveway has a rear leaning angle, so I must not have fully deployed the kickstand but rather I must have put it just enough to have held the bike for a little while. The cool part? No damage to paint or chrome, not even a scratch. The detachable windshield took the brunt, but even then, the shield itself merely flexed and only the windshield-frame had to be mildly tweaked back into shape. Pretty easy. Got lucky! Bike was 2 years old.

Default dropped at stop sign

i am afraid i dropped my new ultra classic twice the first day i rode it. Once at a stop sign on the way back to the dealer to drop the gf off at her car ..(grabbed the front brake too hard) and the second a half hour later backing out of dealers parking lot on an incline. dropped it 5 more times since, mostly while stopping or in dirt.

Have owned 6 Harleys, put on many thousands of miles over the years and have never dropped one. This is true! The ONLY bike I have ever dropped was my new Honda 450 as a teen when I didn't place the kick-stand all the way down...crashed a Honda Goldwing and my racing bike though.

Only time I dropped a bike was when I was riding my near-new '82 Virago 920.

Riding home in the middle of the night on a country road that was mostly dirt, and a sudden thunderstorm turned the road to gumbo.

It happened at low speed, and there was no damage to the bike.

My first bagger, 2010 Street Glide, bought brand new, never had anything but the kick stand and tires on the ground until well after 40,000 miles. Then my foot slipped on gravel while pushing it backward, and I gently let it lay over on crash bar and bottom edge of bag. I stood there holding it for about 5 min till someone came over to help. I was afraid if I tried to lift it by myself I'd slip and it'd fall worse....LOL 2015 Road glide, 15 months old and 14,000 miles, so far so good.
