ive got rineharts with a pcIII. a little popping here and there that ive tried to tweek . havent stopped it completely . worsens when its hot . im getting rid of the pcIII and putting a sert and having a custom dyno on it thursday. i will let yall know if the popping is all gone, and the overall performance. i really want to know the difference between me tuning it and the dyno shop doing it. i have heard on alot of forums people say they have absolutely no popping , then ill go to another forum theyre on and they say theres a little popping on a hard decel. so i think alot of these pipes with no backpressure are always getting alittle popping here and there. anyhow ill let you all know.
Hey Pak,
Couple of Questions on the Rolling Thunders...
Do you remap ?
How loud are they compared to Stock ? 1 being Stock and 10 being straight pipes
My WIfe rides on the back all the time and she is B#$^@ing about the currnet pipes I have on the Bike being too loud.
Looking for something about a 5 on the scale.
I have a pair of the Smooth Bore HD2, they are a factory Pipe that this guy in LA reworks, sounds great, deep rumble but too loud for my wife and we cant hear the radio when we are riding... (She doesnt like to wear the full helmet with the earpeices to hear the radio)
We are looking for something alittle louder than stock, but not too loud... Looking for Probubly a 4 on a scale of 1-10 in volume

Same boat here, have stock now and want louder, but don't want to pi$$ the wife off. My buddy put Wild Pigs on his at Myrtle Beach when he was there and it doesn't sound too loud, he can still hear the radio no problems. Will something like Wild Pigs slip ons improve performance at all, or just sound? I can't afford Rineharts, SERT, Stage 1 just yet so I figure if I settle on something like Wild Pigs it'll be a start
I have an 06 RK Classic with straight cut Rolled Thunder, Ness Big Sucker and PCIII. I love the way it sounds. It has a nice deep rumble and will crank it up a bit when you open up the throttle. At cruising speed it is not loud at all, It just sounds like it should. I did have a little decel popping and read somewhere else in the forums that adding 20 to each cell in the PCIII at 0 and 2% throttle positions would take care of it.
I did just that today and it runs great. I couldnt make it pop now if I wanted to. It runs great and sounds great.
I have the se race mufflers and think there a lil load, have put 2000 miles on and no issues with popping or backfiring, it may have a lil single backfire on a 1/2 mile off throttle downgrade but i think it's normal, dealers said I'd need the tuner, but so far alls fine, have run cheap gas and the good ultra, there are no mapping issues, talked to the dealer again and he says some run fine some don't, guess i got a good one.
