Replaced stock mufflers with slash cut 1 3/4" baffles from Rolling Thunder this am!! Very simple and straight foward removal and install.....Now it sounds like a Harley.
You're just at the tip of the iceberg! Now, you'll want to find out how to reduce the popping and bangings during the decel, and get more power. Don't worry! We all caught that same bug!

I've got the same ones on my 05 Ultra as well as 95", power commander, and 204 cams, the bike runs like a striped a--ed ape. Great mufflers for a fantastic price, and sounds wonderful.
I am looking to put those on my 05 RK with SE slip ons with billet ends. will they work? I love the look of my pipes put they are a little soft sounding to me.
surprisingly, i found a pair of the straight-cut Samson Rolled Thunders on J&P's website under their 'scratch/dent' section last week. paid $215 delivered for the pair and when they came- the 'scratch and dent' was a small piece of plastic bag that had melted on one of the pipes. after about 10 minutes of cleaning- they looked brand new.
i will say this- they sound really good for slip-ons (with the stock 'crossover' pipe).... much better than the Python's and V&H ive heard, but- pipes are a personal preference.
Check their web site http://rollingthunderpipes.comfor fit as for the sound if you could describe the sound of a Harley to someone these slip-ons are what you would describe!! Very deep with a rumble mixed in and when you crack the throttle it comes alive!! Went for a good ride last night and I believe my temp has dropped at least 5 degrees.
Hey Pak,
Couple of Questions on the Rolling Thunders...
Do you remap ?
How loud are they compared to Stock ? 1 being Stock and 10 being straight pipes
My WIfe rides on the back all the time and she is B#$^@ing about the currnet pipes I have on the Bike being too loud.
Looking for something about a 5 on the scale.

Jake, What pipes do you have now? I have V&H dresser duals with Wild Pigs (very similar, if not the same as RT pipes) with 1 3/4 baffles, and I would put them at about a 4 on your scale. Best bang for the buck for a dresser!!!

Has anyone been able to completely get rid of decell popping after changing pipes?
