i think they'd be making a huge mistake to do that. the v rod revs like a gazillion rpm's at hiway speed and has not anywhere near the tractor torque that the big twin has. face it, the vrod is a similar sized motor to a sportster. they're bound to bring out something that will appeal to someone, remember, they did bring out the v rod, and it's the redheaded stepchild of harley. i'd much rather see them go with a motor similar to the rocket III, now those things are really rockets. ridiculous amounts of torque and horsepower. and smooth running.
and liquid cooled, looks nice. If HD steps up and does something along the same lines
with their V Twin, I'd be happy to trade my 06 RK in.

I rode my v-rod on a 3500 mile trip with my wife, bags loaded, and enough **** piled up on the back to look like the beverly hillbillys. Never had any problems with the 88ftlbs of torque and 114 rwhp mine was making. I still got 42 mpg. There is no doubt in my mind that the reveloution engine is fully capable of pulling a touring bike.
