Someone here mentioned using a garden sprayer full of waterr with a couple ounces of jet dry to rinse the bike after the wash to eliminate spots. I am going to give this a try.

Dawn will strip the wax off your paint. I wouldn't use it unless that's your goal.

Okay...I'll say it too...

For those of you using Dawn detergent to wash your bike, you might be interested in this. Zaino, makers of a premium automotive polish, recommend you use Dawn detergent before applying their products because it removes not only the dirt, but the old wax, as well. They specifically recommend Dawn.

We also have extremely hard water, and even after its run through the softener, will still leave water spots. Mr Clean works great, and really does a nice job on the black wrinkle paint cylinders. Thanks on the heads up on getting refills....

i been using a weed sprayer for a long time washing bikes. it's low pressure, and you can use whatever additives in the water you want to. i sorta like calgons sheeting action. one of the best parts a 2 gallon weed sprayer i think costs about 12 to 15 bucks. i don't use that one for anything but the bike and the car though, not for weeds or anything else.

I am pretty sure dish soap will strip the wax from anything
