i went to a local carquest dealer and he scanned the lid on my saddle bag and mixed the paint for me. my friend spot painted my bike and it came out perfect. what is good about scanning is that if your paint is not perfect , it will match up to your bike pefectly.

Painting a rear fender to match this weekend , I will post again with info on how many coats of candy over the black to get a good match.

edit: Just did a test panel , 1 coat of candy dusted , crosscoat did it . Any more and its way too light.

 

OP: goo gone and gently using a razor blade will get that sticker off your air cleaner.

PPG supplies most of the paints used on their bikes. However there are some paints that PPG cannot sell. If you want the paint for your bike, just give the painter the colors, and PPG will go by that. No need to get the codes if you know the color. But, no PPG dealer can mix Sceamin Eagle orange, under no circumstances. Hope that helps.
