I had a Kaw.VN 1500 when times were hard.
Lost my Road King in divorce...and had to compromise.I was still going to ride no matter what my axx was on.
A few years later back on a Harley. It is a feeling one can only experience by being the owner of one.
You cant honestly say that everytime you had a Harley pulled up besides you on your metric your head was raised proud to be on American made tradition, heritage and quality.
Get the Harley...you will never look back. If you do...you will know where you stand and all of your questions will be answered.
I have faith...you'll be on here as a regular adicted to the disease of Harley ownership!
Whatever you ride....ride it safely!
I've owned lots of different bikes, Harelys, Metrics and Euros (I still long for my old 750 Triump Bonnyville to blast around town). I had a VTX 1300 for about a year not too long ago. Short on cash and bought it cheap. It was a fun bike to ride. Finish not too great, lots of plastic. Ran good but had no soul. Sold it and bought my SG. My maintenance on the SG is no more than the Honda and less than a lot of other bikes I have had. Most of the work you can do yourself.
Buy the Harley.
I have rode a the same Honda for 13 years. Always wanted a Harley not just because its a Harley but because I have rode my friends Harley's and really enjoyed the ride. My Honda is still in the garage but I always ride the Harley now.
I can assure you if you ever have a question about your new Road King you can get it answered on this forum! There are really some helpful folks on here but I will warn you it is an addiction. I rode a Suzuki C-50 then to a VTX 1300R and now the Ultra and I must say nothing compares to the Harley. Welcome Aboard!! Now go get it!
Going for a demo ride is a good idea, however I would recommend that you rent one for a full day or even more and ride it long enough to really get a feel for it and then make your decision.
Buyer's Remorse lasts for about 5 minutes on a Harley - much shorter than any other brand. Just crank that honking V-twin one time and deep in your spirit you will know that you have just entered the gates of Heaven!
