Engine just quits?
Another potential cause is the Engine Temp Sensor. Had a very similar problem that this has solved on my 03 UC. It only costs $37 and is located just behind the horn on the back of the front cylinder. Requires a 3/4" deep well socket to replace.
Casual water from rain, or a bike wash and easily get in the fuel adder connection with the ECM under the seat (PCV, Ect.) and cause an intermittent short. Dielctric grease is your friend!
This is kind of a question to all and maybe an answer to the Problem. Do Harleys have bank angle sensors ( a switch that shuts the motor down if you drop the bike). I ask because when I owned a Goldwing I had the same problem...bike would quit and not restart until you turned the ignition off and on. Turned out to be a defective B/A sensor. Just a thought
Thanks all for your quick responses, nice to get some advice on the problem. From the descriptions others put I think my first step will be to clean the contacts on the kill switch, then try it for a while to see if the problem returns. Appreciate the assistance.
