If you are seriously going to buy if it rides good. Make a deal with them. Rent one from them, if you dont like it then you know your answer. If you do like it tell them you will buy from them if they credit the rental.
Find out when one of your local dealers has the Harley demo truck coming in. Then you can test drive them all.
The reality is a dealer should let you do that any way demo truck or not, When i was going to buy my dyna I was torn between a street bob and a fatbob so our salesmen said why dont you take one and your dad take the other ill leed you on a good ride so you can switch off.
And even one time we went to get some hotdogs and we were taking to him and i said someday i would like my dad to trade in his King for a road glide someday so he said "well we got a real nice 09 in orange and black" my dad was like no no.. maybe next year... so he say ok.. than about 5 minutes later he come rolling out the door this brand new RG starts it up and said "here take it for a ride" haha He's a cool guy his Name is Chris we've bought 3 bikes from him..

Sounds like you would like to send some business Chris's way. Why not take a minute to fill out your profile so we would know where Chris is located, even what country he is in. Only takes a minute.
Rent one for a day! In fact you might split the day between a new street glide, and the new road king. Many dealers will do 1/2 day rentals. Then you've got a direct comparison. Also, lots of dealers will deduct the rental fees if you make a purchase within 30 days. I'd say that's worth the test.... let us know.

I drove the bike home, my son said I should buy a cape when driving and put a big R (for Robbin) on the wife. LOL
The bike drove great, did not notice any difference with the frame but did notice the extra power and the breaks are awesome. Very nice ride.
The MSRP was around 21K I offered 19K cash, the salesman said no way. His counter offer was sticker plus I have to buy $500 in extras, I would have came up another K but the sales(boy) had a bad attitude. So after ROFLMAO I left with a sour taste in my mouth and blood on my knuckles. On to the next dealer.
BTW, I found the same bike on Ebay for 1K under MSRP but it's in Texas, I live in Ft. Lauderdale so it would not be practical.
Not only no test drive, the sales dude freaked out when I sat on it.
I just got off the phone with another Harley dealer, they told me not only can I test drive any bike they have I can also take it home and show the wife and keep it over night (WOW)!. Looks like they are getting my business even if their shop is 20 more miles from my home.
there ya be! funny how the 'local' dealer is farther from home. my shop is 30 plus miles from me and the sales man was trowing keys at me...even 20 minutes before closing!
